Course Description
The 13.5 intensive hands-on workshop introduces the FAKTR-PM approach to treat chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain syndromes. Participants will learn immediate clinical applications for all major regions of the body (shoulder, elbow, spine, knee & ankle).
Course Outline
1) The origin of Functional & Kinetic Treatment with Rehab Provocation and Motion
2) Theoretical Basis for FAKTR-PM
3) Hands on treatment to include the shoulder, elbow, ankle, knee, cervical and lumbar spines.
4) An introduction to Kinesiotaping (KT)
5) Introduction to the use of low tech rehab during treatment
Course Objectives
1) Demonstrate the use of various combinations of soft tissue treatment techniques combined with rehab and KT, allowing those attending the seminar the ability to utilise the techniques taught in class immediately.
2) To help the practitioner develop the skills and expertise to easily treat a wide variety of soft tissue injuries quickly and effectively.
Attendees
Clinicians including PT's, DC's, MD's, DO's, OT's, ATC's, Podiatrists, and Dentists may attend the workshop. Experience with instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization (such as Graston Technique, Gua Sha, AYSTM, SASTM), Kinesiotaping, and proprioceptive therapeutic exercise (such as Thera-Band Bands,Balls, & Balance or Janda Approach) is recommended but not a requirement.
